Roses aren't just red and violets vary a bit too,
Here's a nervously concocted rhyme, hope the words aren't too many or too few.
Over a year ago, you set your wedding date for this June,
What a lot of planning and organising, well done you!
The great day arrived arm-in-arm with clouds,
Too late for travelling guests, considering outfit doubts.
Chirpy make-up and hair artist knows her craft,
A brush stroke here, a colour there along with laughs,
Her words and smiles were as balm,
Instilling in bride-to-be confidence and calm.
Entered professional photographer with heavy gear,
Dissipating the dreaded ‘click-click’ fear.
It was time. The cab arrived and left us outside,
Along the River Thames to where the venue resides.
Meanwhile, young pianist with fingers poised and excited guests waited,
Tradition was kept, because you, the beautiful bride was late.
Doors opened, your smile was radiant on entering the room,
Everyone breathed a sigh, as did the nervous groom.
Vows made without mistakes,
Exchanged rings, kisses and loving glances weren’t fakes.
Roses aren’t just red, they come in many hues,
Cheers. Lots of love, laughter and future happiness to both of you.
